Not a great day, but it felt SO GOOD to be back on a platform to put a total up for 2018!
8 weeks ago I honestly didn’t ever think my body would hold up to be able to compete again. Now, I can’t wait to get back to training 🤟🏾🤗 I am SO FREAKING PROUD of @j_paige89 for her performance today! She went 6/6 in her first meet at 74/93 qualifying her for AOSeries. She has worked hard side by side with me the past 8 weeks and she was able to perform today ♥️ Pro tip: Never try and lift and coach in the same meet 🙃😂. Not even your homegirl, not even your training partner. Thanks @lionchaserbarbell for all the help!

IDK what was more broke today - the blocks, or my jerk. This was suppose to be my max set of 3, normally I would step up to it again and hit it. But these blocks couldn’t afford any extra lifts today and I had 4 drop sets to do 😆🤢 As you can see, I was pushing everything forward this morning (which is eventually how i missed). Ideally you want to recover from the jerk FRONT FOOT first, when you are forced to recover back foot first you are finishing with the bar too far in front and have too much weight in your front leg... which will eventually result in a miss. #douwannabeaprincessoraweightlifter #honoryourbarbell #honoryourgifts

It’s been only one week since I’ve moved away from my beloved hip clean and started working toward keeping my arms a bit more straight and having my shoulders over the bar on bar/body contact. Timing is still VERY off and honestly these lifts look easier than they feel. But I’m pretty happy that my 85% clean is moving this smooth already after such a big change! 🔥🏋🏼♀️ If you’re thinking about making a change in technique to improve your top end numbers - TRUST IT. Find someone to help you work through the change (@burnscolin has been helping me on this clean!) and trust that a lot of funky reps and weird timing now, will eventually pay off!
